I wanted to bring forward the computer code font style to emphasize the overall theme of the story--an astronaut seeking help on Mars from NASA through their main communication softwares. The black frames inspired me since the readers receive accounts of Mark Watney's day through video logs (a "look" at his day). This artwork appeals to me especially because it represents Mark's loneliness as he attempts to survive Mars' geological atmosphere.

I wanted this cover to have a different aesthetic and feel compared to The Martian. This story navigates unexpected friendship, overcoming life-threatening challenges, and discovering new scientific life-forms. I believe this cover emulates this feeling as Ryland Grace traverses through space alone to save humanity while experiencing things no human could ever dream of. I thought that for a change the book title could take precedent over the author to bring emphasis to the book theme.

This version of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, I wanted to go with a non-photographic style and emphasize the seven marriages. I found that continuing the main character's signature green color with a touch of velvet adds the luxuriousness of old Hollywood. If this book were to be printed, a soft touch matte cover would be the cherry on top for the full effect. And the pop of gold was a complementary addition to the Hollywood atmosphere.
